One of the great things about reading is that is gives you a chance to escape into another time, place or someone’s lifestyle. And boy did a read a lifestyle.
My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands by Chelsea Handler
This was collection of stories that were fun and sometimes unbelievable. How can one woman get herself in so many different messed up situations? Yes ,she did and so could I. It’s totally possible that life takes you to be introduced to people and places that are just shake your head crazy.
Some of these stories that she talks about make me wish that I was right there with her. The conversations with her Dad and the things he says..remind me of sometimes with my own Dad.
I can think of a hand full of stories from high school to college to currently, where I thought “How in the hell did we not get caught” I even think of now, when we get together with family member and the same stories bring out so much laughter as they did when we hear then the first time. My favourite is “Remember that time Peanut ate the muffin out of Mom’s purse at Amy’s house?”
Still, I think that what excites me about being in my early 30’s with all my crazy good friends, my stories can be and have been just as funny. This is definitely a fun read. Make sure you pass it on.
